microSHIFT was founded in 1999 by a team as the founders of the company, the members of the team came from different parts makers with the experience in bike industry for more than 20 years.
OUR POLICY
The latest bike industry in Taiwan started from 1960's and there were a lot of top level world-wide components supplied from Taiwan in 1990's, it's a pity that derailleur is not on the list. Our experience in the industry told us how to make a qualified product, it's the first step to get the agreement from market side and of course we should provide more advantages to get the support from customers – reasonable cost, controllable delivery and more flexible to cooperate with the demand from customers….. this also became our policy of the company.
PRODUCTION
Considering the competition in the market we started our first China ShenZhen factory in 2001 and moved to current HuiZhou factory in 2012, our policy is to get the most competitive cost/ parts together by investment. The mission of our HuiZhou factory is mass production, it mainly operate a very general process like plastic injection, stamping to satisfy the demands of delivery from HuiZhou factory and the demands from Taiwan factory. Our company's base is in Taiwan, it operates for more precise hi-tech manufacturing processes such as assembly, CNC, auto-transfered cassettes stamping, and control all the R&D and marketing activities.
PRODUCTS
Our thinking of product development is to go step by step, it means after we make sure everything is going in a smooth way then we go for the others. We don't outsource or merge a company in order to expand our line-up because it is difficult to get the right spirit of the origin. microSHIFT started from twist type shifters ( We improved what been existed in the market, for example integrated design and easy read-out indicator…) and then we introduced more items – trigger type shifters, FD & RD for MTB, ROAD… year by year. 2007 is an important year to microSHIFT, we introduced our first Dual Control Levers for ROAD ( Our engineers designed the products based on our SHIFT & GO technology and input an innovative design – Independent shift levers to the new shifters. It's not just for to stay away from our competitors' patents, more important is it provides the users a no-confusion controlling. microSHIFT's new concept and performance really caught the attention of the industry.
STATUS IN THE MARKET
There're more & more bikes specified with microSHIFT components , and the pro teams also approved the quality and performance by accepting the products sponsorship from microSHIFT ( Cofidis – 2010, Exergy- 2011, Wonderful Pistachios- 2011, CKT- 2011, Vorarlberg-2013, Jelly Belly 2015, Blitz-Memil-2017, Hrinkow-2017, Kuwait-2017…. ). In the meantime the OEM cases ( Specialized, Felt, GT, Cannondale, Giant, Bridgestone, BTwin, Marin Bikes, Batavus – Accell Group, NuVinci- Fallbrook,…) also shows our capability of R&D are reliable & qualified to be accepted by our customers.
